Firstly, thank you to everybody who turned out to our fantastic Freshers’ Reception last Thursday – we had a brilliant turnout and the event was really well received! What’s more, if you haven’t joined the society yet then please do so for FREE through the “Join Warwick Labour” link above.
Anyway, down to business…
Lefty Lattes – Thursday, 5:00
This coming Thursday we have our inaugural edition of “Lefty Lattes” – this is Warwick Labour’s relaxed, weekly tea/coffee social, held in the comfortable surroundings of the SU Terrace Bar. For this opening week we’re going to be discussing what the Labour Party needs to do to ensure it is re-elected in 2015. The opinion polls consistently put the party at a comfortable lead and the prospect of a Cameron re-election is looking increasingly unlikely, but what do you reckon the party has to do to ensure victory in 2 and a half years?
Come along, grab a hot drink and have an enjoyable hour discussing politics. Even if you don’t necessarily consider yourself a Labour voter, come along anyway and tell us what the Labour Party should do to get your vote – everybody is welcome!
We’ll all meet on the Piazza at 5pm on Thursday then proceed up to the Terrace Bar. Look forward to seeing you soon!
Toby Perkins MP – Friday, 12:00
Secondly, this coming Friday we have Toby Perkins, MP for Chesterfield, coming down to give us a talk on all things Labour. Toby was first elected in the 2010 general election and is presently a Shadow Minister for Business. Toby is a great speaker and it would be fantastic to get a really large turnout to hear him speak. Come along to S0.09 (that’s the one next to where we had our Freshers’ Reception last week) at 12:00 on Friday!
That’s all for this week, look forward to seeing you at a Warwick Labour event soon!
